Invention

The PetroPro sump cover was invented to prevent the infiltration of surface water from entering the sump system. Though  the sump system is designed to remove surface water once it enters the sump pit, it is only after the water reaches the sump sensor that the surface water is removed from the sump pit. Allowing water to rest in the pit between these periods is what causes corrosion to the metal equipment and the top of the underground storage tank. Over time the corrosion will eventually break down the UST causing it to leak into the ground. The PetroPro sump cover will channel the surface water away from the sump pit and into the surrounding gravel. No additional mechanical equipment is required because the sump cover passively channels the surface water away from the sump pit using only gravity.
